Here are some examples of great achievement in sports from our pupils.
This pupil in Y5 has won a trophy for the most improved player in the school football club.
This Y4 pupil has won the same award but as part of Archbishop Ilsley football club,
From the Cedars PE department, well done to everyone. Keep working hard!
Yesterday, our school dancers took part in a dance competition at Oasis Academy Blakenhale Junior as part of Ninestiles Cluster and School Games.
They spent several days practising during lunchtime and after school to create this master piece. It was a tough competition with a lot of great performances and very difficult to choose a winner at the end. We finished in 3rd position.
Thanks to Holly, our dance coach, for your help and support with this. Here is the performance. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Well done everyone!
Cedars Choir is getting ready for Christmas.
This is one of the rehearsals after school. They have been practising for only 3 weeks and this is amazing.
Well done to everyone!
As many of you know, last Friday we started with “Marathon Kids project”. Here is a little explanation about the project.
“The concept is simple – children are given the opportunity to complete a full marathon (42.2 km) over the duration of the school year by running laps of a measured course twice a week during their lunch break and after school. The idea is that we are giving your children the chance to become healthy by choosing to run and participate in extra physical activity to that provided during normal PE lessons.”
This year we are running every Friday during lunchtime and after school.
Here is some information about how well everyone did for the 1st day. Thanks to the Y6 leaders for their help during this time. They did a great job.
Cedars Academy is promoting a healthy and active life for everybody. We encourage pupils and parents to visit this website which is full of ideas.
